Professional Experience

Linda is a Director in the Litigation Department. She specializes in contentious civil litigation and oversees our family and matrimonial practice.

 

Linda, together with her team of 5 matrimonial lawyers, handles a large volume of matrimonial cases each month. She works closely with Engelin Teh, SC for complex matrimonial matters, handles cases on her own and also oversees the running of simpler, non-contentious matters by the rest of the team.

 

Linda handles ALL aspects of family and matrimonial law. She has acted for parties in contentious divorce proceedings where the divorce, custody of children, division of assets and maintenance are being contested. Her litigation work covers cross-border matrimonial disputes, stay applications on the ground of forum non conveniens, assets tracing involving assets held in overseas jurisdictions and in corporate vehicles, both local and foreign.

 

She has also acted for parties in custody and guardianship disputes over minor children, including custody disputes straddling different jurisdictions; maintenance summons applications, family violence as well adoption applications.

 

Her family practice extends to advising clients on out of court settlements as well as acting for clients in mediation sessions in both the Family Court as well as the Singapore Mediation Centre.

 

Linda believes that every client deserves fair and proper representation no matter the complexity of the dispute or the quantum of the claim. She provides honest, realistic advice to clients but will spare no effort to advance their cases to the best of her ability. She approaches every matter with high professionalism and integrity.

 

Education

Linda graduated in 2001 from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B (Hons. 2nd Upper) and was admitted to the Singapore bar in 2002.

Court of Appeal: Wife has equal share in lottery winnings

<May 2019>

Linda successfully acted for one of the parties in a landmark Court of Appeal decision on the apportionment of lottery winnings as matrimonial assets. She was assisted by our Ms Charmaine Lim.
